I do have an IQ higher than my age but I know you can't tell that by some of the things I like. For instance, people my age are always shocked at the music I enjoy. Truthfully I like all music except for country that makes me depressed (dog dies, wife leaves, farm forecloses) and some forms of jazz. I love classical music, and celtic music and hammered dulcimer are faves. But, I especially love hip hop and reggae and top 40. There is an upside to this. I can always talk music with my kids. There is a down side too when my 5 year old is singing some of those lyrics, but we'll talk about that in another post. (grin)
Anyway, in December I get to exercise my juvenile self and take Rob to a holiday concert sponsored by our favorite radio station. I got the tickets tonite and they are primo. Lower arena, full view of stage. They are expensive. But it is part of his holiday celebration. He gets to see The Fray. His world is complete. And his Ooma? Oh she is happy. She gets to see Sean Kingston! Shorty call 9-1-1 Ooma's going crazy on the dance floor! LOL (except I'll probably have to bring some ear plugs to deaden the sound a bit so I don't get a migraine!) Still even if I pay with one the next day, it's all good. Rob is so excited.

Oh my goodness, you're right because I don't think I'll ever get rid of the mental image of you grooving to that Sean Kingston song. Awesome!! I'm glad you and Rob will have a fun outing together.
We're also a pretty diverse family musically, though, so I'm sympathetic. I don't have a lot of patience for the sappy '70s/'80s R&B love songs my Lee likes, but I don't have a lot of patience when she's singing the "What's got into that cat?" from some old commercial either, so maybe it's a patience problem on my part.
